An ocean front project with limited site size and an aggressive energy efficient design, utilizes the north facing roof with a back angled evacuated tube solar thermal system, to offset 50% of the energy of the heating demand. A 12kW photovoltaic system on the balance of the south facing roof will go far to cover the electrical load for the ground source geothermal heat pump, providing the balance of energy for heating and for cooling. Design services included the integration of the combined solar thermal and ground source geothermal system for mechanical heating and cooling, radiant floor heating, domestic hot water and pool heating.   The design project also incorporates plumbing drain, water and vent isometrics, and mechanical ventilation for all below grade areas.
